100 students complete Allianz virtual work experience programme

Allianz Holdings welcomed 100 students from across the UK to its virtual work experience programme this Summer.

The week long programme included senior leaders from Allianz giving presentations on a range of areas across the commercial and personal businesses. Students gained an introduction to Operations, Pricing, Marketing, IT, Finance and Underwriting, and also attended an HR session providing interview tips. Allianz tasked the students with group project work throughout the week, culminating with a presentation back to an Allianz panel for feedback.

Previously Allianz work experience placements were arranged at individual branches rather than through a formal scheme but the online programme was created during Covid restrictions. Following its successful launch, the virtual scheme is now in its second year and growing.

Jules Harrison, Allianz Graduate Talent Manager (pictured), commented: “I’m delighted at how successful our virtual programme has been over the past two years. We know that Covid restrictions made it really difficult to obtain work experience, so it’s great that hosting the sessions online has allowed us to have a much wider reach regionally and provide access to students in many more communities across the UK.

“We’ve had fantastic feedback from students, parents and teachers about the programme and we look forward to making it bigger and better in years to come.”
