Do you have to open the throttle to start a motorcycle?

It could be an issue with the fuel injection system itself. Some sensor somewhere may not have a good handle on the temperature and not richening the mixture enough. Opening the throttle at start will, in most cases, deliver more fuel than air, making the mixture richer which works well for cold starts.
