Why is my Metlife claim taking so long to process?

My mom died on July third and I made a claim shortly after. It’s been nine business days and they told me multiple times it would be five business days for my policy to be processed. Problem is, my sister and stepdad (the only other beneficiaries) already received their checks in the mail days ago, while mine hasn’t even been processed. They submitted their claims in the late evening of 7/10 and mine first thing in the morning of 7/11. We were originally scheduled concerned that our claim would be denied because her cause of death was alcoholic cirrhosis, but since the other two beneficiaries got their checks so fast I assume her policy covered that. I have submitted all documents and a woman I called with Metlife customer service said they are not requesting any additional documentation from the employer or myself. I’ve called three or four times and they say the same thing every time, “it’s almost done processing! Call back tomorrow if you don’t hear anything!” Is it common for this to happen? And is it possible that Metlife will approve a claim for one beneficiary but deny it for the other? I am getting so nervous, we cannot pay for her services until I get this money and I feel like my grieving process cannot even begin until that happens.
