Weird decline reason from Banner Life

Hi all,

I'm at a loss here regarding a decline from Banner Life that has me now worried that nobody will insure me.

I'm in my late 30's and in excellent shape. I eat clean(almost never eat out) and compete in races and do pretty well for my age group. I workout 7 days a week doing yoga, lifting, and running. No drug use, just lots of supplements. Drinking is at a minimum (maybe 1-2 drinks a week).

Other than that, I have lifelong Asthma and ADHD. The latter requires me to check-in with a psychiatrist as I am currently prescribed a low dosage of Adderall.

After about 3 months of back and forth I was finally declined. The reason: they pulled my psychiatrist's report and found that I admitted to trying marijuana in the past. This was over 10 years ago and I absolutely don't smoke(would be terrible for my asthma) or like the effects of the substance at all.

This reason has me shook. The "substance" is legal in my state. Am I going to have a hard time with other insurers now with this decline? Can anyone recommend other insurers that are less risk adverse? Especially in terms of my psych report stating that I tried substances in the past?

EDIT/UPDATE: I am requesting the report now and a proper decline response. There may be some misunderstanding on the term "substance" for them. If they presume other substances, is it common for decline for anybody admitting trying it in the past without a history of continued use? My concerns here is now that I have tried MDMA(my rave era) in the past. Also ancient history, maybe like 15 years ago.
