We only got Php13k death claim due to reinstatement

Hi everyone. Would like to ask some opinion regarding the claim that we have received from the insurance provider due to the death of family member.

For context.

This family member was insured since 2008 and has been paying consistently for more than a decade for 3 policies (2 life and 1 hospitalization). Last Sept. 2022, we were notified that we are 1 month behind for payment and we were given a 30-days grace period. However, we only got to pay November on that same year, and they said that there would be reinstatement. We only know that it got reinstated however we were not notified what would be the consequences once the policies are reinstated. 2 months ago, this family member died and after the burial we submitted all the necessary requirements for our claim from the insurance get processed.

Today, after 1 month of waiting, we received an email that it has been approved and upon checking our bank accounts, we only received Php13k as our death claim. We were confused because we thought that we will received the supposed amount based on the policies. We asked our contact from the branch office and they said that they don't know that much information regarding this matter. We were confused because they were supposed to know that kind of information since they are the one who relay from the branch to the main office, so we called the headquarters. After checking with the main office, they said that there was a reinstatement and we can claim only the supposed amount if the death of the insured person is after 2 years of reinstatement.

We were loss at words since the money that returned to us after paying premiums for more than a decade is only 13k. Can we seek a legal advice for this and contest it?
