Vanguard Buys New Campus in Charlotte

Vanguard has acquired a 91-acre property with a new 700,000-square-foot building in Charlotte, North Carolina, for its 2,400 employees in the region.

It bought the property from Centene Corporation, a managed healthcare firm, for $117 million, according to the Charlotte Business Journal.

Vanguard expects the campus — which includes a conference center, cafeteria, outdoor eating and walking areas, a fitness center and electric vehicle charging stations — to open next year. It is located in Charlotte’s University City district near a light rail transit line.

The Valley Forge, Pa.-based fund giant currently leases several office locations in Charlotte, a spokesperson said.

“We’re excited to continue to enrich their workplace experience through a brand-new, modernized campus that maximizes the value of in-person collaboration and reinforces our commitment to Charlotte as a hub for purpose-driven talent,” according to Jennifer Manry, Vanguard’s principal of corporate systems in IT and Charlotte site co-lead for Vanguard.
