UK – lied on life insurance application

Okay so I’m 24 now and have put a deposit down on a house, and with that I have had to do a life insurance application in the UK.

When asked the questions have I ever done drugs, I said no.

But when I was 17, and stupid, I tried Xanax and was a bit all over the place, my parents called an ambulance, and I was admitted into hospital and discharged.

I have since had a request for my medical records from the life insurance company, but before approving consent, I have requested and seen a copy of my medical records.

Clearly it states that I was admitted to hospital for Xanax, but I am wondering what will be the implications, for this, can I get a good outcome for lying initially.

Also, I was 17 at the time, therefore under the age of 18 so is there any way I can exclude this from allowing my insurance company to see it as I wasn’t even an adult and don’t want it to influence my adult life when I’m matured and don’t do drugs now.

Yes I know I maybe should have been honest but it’s done now just want to get the best outcome with the situation as my head is fried.

Thank you
