Timing Questions
I have an application that is currently in underwriter review.
I am looking at a 10 year or 20 year term life insurance policy. Things change over time. If I develop a condition in 7 years that was not on my application, do I have to inform my life insurance company?
If I start doing hard drugs 7 years into my policy, do I have to inform my insurance company? If I happen to accidentally die 7 years into my policy while on hard drugs, will they pay out?
If I start skydiving 7 years into my policy, do I have to inform my insurance company? I did not have skydiving as a hobby when I first applied. Could they deny me if I died in a skydiving accident 7 years into my policy?
Times change, people change, and life circumstances change. It just seems that 25 years is a long time to develop habits or dangerous hobbies that would allow an insurance company to deny a claim. I feel that there are just to many ways that a life insurance company can say that I misrepresented myself if my lifestyle, hobbies, health, and activities can change over 25 years.
