The 10 Best Restaurants in the World
Actor and gourmet Stanley Tucci recently hosted a gathering in London of the crème de la crème of the world’s restaurant community to celebrate The World’s 50 Best Restaurants awards for 2022.
The awards ceremony, sponsored by S. Pellegrino and Acqua Panna, celebrated restaurants from 24 territories on five continents. Twelve establishments made their debut on the list, and two others returned.
Last year’s top-rated restaurant, the renowned Noma in Copenhagen, Denmark, was elevated to the Best of the Best Hall of Fame.
Two U.S. restaurants made the top 50, Atomix at No. 33 and Le Bernardin at No. 44, both in New York.
Offering Advice Over Lunch
The restaurants on the 2022 list are probably in the stratosphere for all but wealthy diners — if they can get a reservation. In any case, most advisors won’t be courting prospective clients in those kinds of establishments.
Still, lunch and dinner are often part of the process of bringing new clients on board or meeting with current ones for an annual portfolio review. Bryce Sanders, president of Perceptive Business Solutions, offers some tips on how to meet the dining preferences of different clients.
Some like French bistros, others a steakhouse or Asian cuisine. A high-net-worth Generation X couple may prefer an upscale establishment (jacket and tie required), while a younger investor might enjoy the energy in the hot new place in the city.
Wine, anyone? Sanders also has tips on how order a good bottle while keeping the tab under control.
Advisors who want to do something a bit off the grid can host a dinner party and invite clients to their home. This may sound intimidating, but Sanders offers 10 things to think about that will simplify the process. Not least important is conversation, how to draw in everyone and ensure all the guests feel comfortable.
