I was hoping to be able to read post/comments and other information on the internet to help me decide on life insurance but, this ultimately left me more confused and unsure of what is best. So, just decided ask with my specific situation.

I currently have term 80 policies in underwriting for me and my wife with Northwestern Mutual.

I had never heard of term 80 and after doing some research I don’t know if it is right choice. I also now have concerns with NWM after reading all of the negative feedback people have about dealing with them and not sure if that have my best interest in mind.

Though, I have seen positive reviews of term 80 which makes this all the more confusing.

Below is family background and policy information from NWM and a quote I received from Zander.

Me: 27, healthy, $94k gross income Wife: 29, healthy, $38k gross income 1 child, age 2 Plans of adoption in next 2-3 years. Age would be +/- a few years of our current child. So time with dependent is about the same either way.

Total debt: (car, mortgage, student loans) ~$160k

NWM term 80 Me: $750k coverage Starting Premiums Annual Premium: $399.00 Monthly Premium: $34.43

Wife: $250k coverage Starting Premiums Annual Premium: $154.50 Monthly Premium: $13.33

Baner Life through Zander Me: $750k coverage, 30 year term Annual Premium: $456.26 Monthly Premium: $38.78

Wife: $250k coverage, 20 year term Annual Premium: $206.41 Monthly Premium: $17.54

I apologize if this to much information. Does anyone have any feedback or advice on what my next step should be? Thank you in advance for anything you are able to offer.
