Should I remain a real estate agent or join New York Life as a Life Insurance Agent?

Need advice…Here is my story,

I started a career in Real Estate 3 years ago and have been doing pretty good for myself. I made 60k after taxes in 2023 and am constantly getting referrals. (Usually for low priced homes)

HOWEVER, I don’t like how every year it feels like I have to start again from zero. I can’t control when someone will sell or buy a home and even other factors like the interest rates, client’s credit and even the NAR lawsuit that is taking place that will for sure impact the realtors of today.

Which brings me to New York Life and the potentiality of becoming a life insurance agent instead. I got introduced to New York life by a friend who talked to me about the income potential when helping people obtain life insurance. What I like most, is the fact that for every client that renews their policy annually, I’ll receive a percentage from the policy amount from New York life for a very long time (as long as they keep renewing), which would create a sort of passive income from all the work I put in.

I know both are sales jobs and the income potential depends on the work I put in, but I’m hoping someone out there has gone thru the same situation to help me make this decision….
