My father 74 never smoked 5’10. 200lbs. Heart disease stents x3 Type 2 diabetic 30+ years Early Parkinson’s Some minor cognitive decline

Even though many diagnosed issues, his doctors say he is physically healthier than he has been in years.

He lives in the apartment over my garage and has no savings or retirement or life insurance.

He gets 900 a month in ss and has a part time job working about 12 hours a week as an evening park ranger. He has zero assets. (Lives in my garage apt. Drives my spare truck).

He is making enough to cover current living expenses, but has no aftercare plans.

I am assuming costs of his arrangements etc will be my responsibility as I’m closest and I’m fine with that. But, I did want to make sure there wasn’t something I should be doing to have some type of coverage or support for his expenses that I may be unaware of etc.

Please excuse my ignorance as I’m not savvy on these issues.
