Orphaned account. How are agents assigned after your agent leaves (NW Mutual)?

I opened a 65-Life decades ago and the agent was someone I knew. She quit the company soon after I purchased the policy. Since then I have just been paying the premiums. Early on I'd get a lot of sales calls to try and increase the coverage but now no one bothers me. My agent listed on my policy has changed several times over the years. I know nothing about my current agent nor have I ever spoke to him. I have no interest in changing the policy .

The person I signed up with obviously got ongoing commissions when they signed me up. When she left I am assuming they stopped.

So my questions are:

Do these random agents that get assigned still get a commission? Would it be the same that the agent who signed me up with would be getting if they stayed with the company? While I don't know anyone that currently is an agent with the company, I did a search on FB to see if I had any friends but just found friends of friends that. Would it make sense to switch my account to that agent provided the mutual friend says positive things about the person?
