Medical Exam THC nanogram cutoff.

Hello, my question in short is, does anyone know the THC ng/mL cutoff used for a Life Insurance medical exam? Is it the standard 50 ng/mL?

More details because I know it’s coming. I was a daily marijuana smoker through college and into my late 20’s. I since have a wife and a kid and quite frankly grew out of the habit. That being said, I do occasionally still consume marijuana < 10 times per year (more often than not edibles). When filling out my Life Insurance application I was honest when asked if I had used marijuana in the last five years, and I’ve been open about everything so far.

The reason I’m curious about the ng/mL cutoff for the exam is, 3ish weeks ago I was at a bachelor party for a friend and I ate edibles all 4 days we were together. This was before life insurance was even on our radar. Anyway, fast forward and I’m taking the medical exam tomorrow, but I fear if I test positive for THC my claims about being an infrequent user will come into question. I’m worried about getting labeled as a smoker, when in reality I’m not, just some poor timing and naivety from me about potential medical exams.

To wrap up, as I mentioned before, many years in the past I was a very heavy user and as such I understand how long marijuana is detectable in your system. Without taking an at home test I know I would likely pass the standard used by the government / job applications of (50 ng/mL) – I’ve stressed about this a lot when getting my life together post college. However, if they use the more strict 15 ng/mL test, I will for sure test positive.
