SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts, April 5 — Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance, a life insurance company, issued the following news release:

Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company (MassMutual) has committed $1M to help support the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine. The funds will be split among three organizations, including the International Rescue Committee, the American Red Cross, and Team Rubicon. MassMutual is also matching employee donations made to these and other qualifying organizations through the company’s employee Matching Gift program, which matches donations at a 1:1 ratio, up to $5,000 per employee annually.

“Our thoughts are with the Ukrainians who are being impacted by this senseless violence,” said Roger Crandall, Chairman, President and CEO, MassMutual. “We hope for a resolution to this conflict that brings peace, security – and ultimately, freedom – for the people of Ukraine.”

The three organizations MassMutual’s funds will support include:

* The International Rescue Committee (IRC) – often the first responder to the world’s worst humanitarian crises, IRC helps people to survive and rebuild their lives following war and other devastation.

* The American Red Cross – provides lifesaving aid to those in need — both in the country and in neighboring areas – as fighting in Ukraine continues.

* Team Rubicon – provides relief to those affected by disaster, pairing the skills and experiences of military veterans with first responders, medical professionals, and technology solutions to ensure the greatest service and impact possible.

“By selecting these well-established organizations, we are supporting their immediate efforts, knowing that they have the infrastructure in place to ensure funding is distributed in an equitable and timely manner and that they will have the ability to help address future challenges such as resettlement help that may be needed down the line,” said Dennis Duquette, head of Community Responsibility, MassMutual.
