Hello all, first time buying life insurance. I’m 24 YO male and my wife is 29 YO female. I’m a cop, and my wife works in sales. We just got married in October, and looking for life insurance now. I’ve looked at companies like ethos and Zander, and they seem straight forward. I have car insurance through country financial, they always treated me good, so I enquired about their life insurance. Forbes rated them the best for life insurance, no idea why. Anyway, I’m looking for a 750k for my wife and a million for myself for coverage over a 30 year term. We were quoted $268 total for that’s the nice part about this option is that after the 30 years are done, we can all the money we paid back, Ofcourse only if the insurance isn’t paid out. So, we would be getting $96,480 back in 30 years with the help of god and everything going to plan. Is this a good idea y’all?

I see that ethos would cover me for a million over 30 years for about $60. That’s probably half the price, but what we like about country financial is the option to get our money back which puts it into an investment perspective. We have Roths, brokerage accounts, and that idea of getting close to a 100k back in 30 years for staying alive seems nice rather than have money go to waste.

I also need to clarify, if I didn’t choose the option to get money back from country financial if I didn’t get paid out, our monthly premium is only about a $100 a month total for us both.
