Introducing Mitch Ocampo, the new Head of Haven Life

Haven Life CEO Biography

At Haven Life, we have two mottos: The first is to make life insurance less hard. We do that through the world’s best customer success team (if we do say so ourselves), behind-the-scenes technology innovations that make applying online a breeze (and so much more), and by hiring people who genuinely care about, well, making life insurance less hard.

Which brings us to our second motto: We matter to each other. We take our work culture seriously, and believe that through caring about each other as people, we can also take the best care of you, our customers.

And that’s why we don’t just welcome anyone to our team. And why we’re so happy to announce that Mitch Ocampo is joining us as the new Head of Haven Life. Mitch will build on Haven Life’s success with making it simpler and more affordable for consumers to secure financial peace of mind.

“Mitch brings deep industry experience and a successful track record of helping companies grow their digital capabilities to drive business results and improve the customer experience to this role,” said Dominic Blue, Head of Third Party & Direct to Consumer at MassMutual, which owns Haven Life. “I am confident that under his leadership, the Haven Life team will continue to successfully redefine the life insurance buying process, delivering innovative financial solutions online that will help even more people secure their future and protect the ones they love.”

Mitch has more than 18 years of experience in financial services, reinsurance and technology, with a strong background in modernizing insurance. He most recently served as Co-CEO of Cookhouse Lab, part of the LOGiQ3 Group acquired by RGAX, where he led the opening of two innovation labs and spearheaded the launch of a unique reinsurance marketplace focused on insurtech solutions that enhance the future of the life and health insurance industries. Prior to that, he served as Group CTO and Executive Vice President of LOGIQ3 and TAI Reinsurance, where he was responsible for building and growing the company’s global reinsurance software platform through acquisitions. He also previously held leadership roles at msg global solutions, Kogent Corporation, and EMC Global Services.

Mitch earned a Bachelor of Arts in Human Development from the University of New Hampshire and a dual-degree Master of Business Administration from Brown University and the IE Business School in Madrid, Spain.

All of which is to say, yeah, he’s qualified for the role.

If you’re a current policyholder, this change won’t affect your policy or the level of service you receive in any way. (Well, it might get even better, if you can believe it.) If you’re somehow not a policyholder, well, you can get a quote or apply for coverage online in minutes here. We — Mitch and the entire team — look forward to serving you.
