42 year old single mom and recently diagnosed with small bowel intussusception and will have a colonoscopy/EGD to determine if my symptoms are related to colon cancer. I have lost a significant amount of weight and am down to 105lbs, at 5’7, am anemic, have been to the emergency multiple times with abdominal pain, which I now know is due to the small bowel intussusception, and am extremely fatigued, constantly. Basically everything is pointing to worst case scenario, but hoping and praying that it’s not. But, my question is, I currently have a life insurance policy plan through my employer and was wondering if I could (or should) increase the amount now, prior to a diagnosis as I’ve heard that once a diagnosis is made, it cannot be increased, but I have no idea if there is any truth behind this. I have an almost 7 year old daughter and I just want to make sure she’s financially set, with her dad, if that’s all I can do for her, if it is anything serious. Any advice would be greatly appreciated 🫶🤍
