31, my husabnd is 36 and we have 2 toddlers. We are lower income but huband supports us and i dont work.

Husband is overweight and has some concerning health issues including blood in stool, muscle tremors for years, chest pains, etc. Ive been telling him that since we have kids, he should at the very least get life insurence in case anything happens to him.

Is life isurence “rigged” though? Lets say he gets a plan and 10 years down the road he gets, say, cancer. Will this diagnosis raise the cost of his plan to basically where someone with lower income cannot afford? Or will his price stay the same? As you get older do they just raise the prices on your plan?

I remember my dad had life insurence for most of my life. He ended it in his 60s becuase it… got too expensive i think and by that point he had it fot decades. I know he had a heart attack around then and ultimately lived until 74.

I dont really know anything about life insirence but know we need it becuase of our children
