Denied term life, next steps?

Got denied a term life ladder from NYL. 31M. Applied directly through an agent for NYL. They sent a rejection letter saying “medical history” was the issue.

I went to primary care 6 months ago for 1 day of gastric issues. All tests were negative and primary doctor didn’t feel it was a problem at all. No longer a problem. No diagnosis.

Labs came back clean, nothing out of ordinary range. Vegetarian and a runner. No history of family issues except for a sibling that had cancer 30 years ago and is in remission. Very good physical health.

No history of drug use but an arrest in college around alcohol that’s about 15 years old at this point. Not a user or tobacco or cannabis, rarely drink.

Recently went to therapy but wasn’t diagnosed with anything and didn’t receive any medication. Not seeing a psychiatrist or having a prescription. Just talking.

All of this was included in the application.

What’s the next steps? Contact agent? Talk to NYL directly?
