Brokerage Commission Q’s for IMOs
Hi All,
I am here just wondering what percent of a case you take when you are doing secretarial work for agents that bring you business. There are two types of agents that I am wondering about.
Agents that have lost, or cannot get contracted with, a company they are selling a product for. Now, being the agent of record for this case, how much of the comp do you take for yourself? I have heard as high as 25%, because what other option does the agent have if he wants to sell it but cannot get appointed with them. Agents who can get contracted with carriers but have you taking the application and doing all the back office work for them. I have no idea what percent people usually take for this. Would agents still do this for 10% of the case?
Please let me know what you have experienced. If you are doing this, please send me a dm if you think 5% for this service is extremely too low.
