Asthma – how to get into a better tier for term insurance

I’m looking to add more term life insurance within a year. And will work hard to get into a better tier.

Since I have asthma, is there anything I can do to get into a better life insurance tier with my health so that my premium isn’t as high? Are their any carriers the weight asthma with a lower percentage when calculating coverage premiums?

I’d like to get back into the top tier coverage for pricing.

I don’t smoke, don’t drink, keep my highly processed foods to less than 20% of my calories on most days, I have good blood pressure, and exercise and get massages. And in past year I breath very clean air at home – many hepa units running 24/7. And better hepa central ac box. My water is filtered but is poor man’s filters and want to do reverse osmosis.

I’m on a wait list for a very good asthma rehab breathing center. I hope to be accepted.

My bmi is up from 20 to 25. Will probably be around 20 in a few months. I was sick and got hurt several times over 4 months and wasn’t very active unless I was actively getting hurt.

Asthma is my only chronic medical condition. And, I now wear glasses.

Here is a run down of it:

How old were you when you were first diagnosed with asthma? 40’s

Are your asthma attacks seasonal or year round? Never had an attack randomly. I create them. I have trouble when exercising or doing a hard activity. Example, carrying a 50lb box up a flight of steps when hold it at my chest but not on my shoulder. Then it’s hard to breath for 60 seconds. Talking and doing basic physical activity like light cycle on a bike. Or talking walking up a long steep hill. Or talking and walking up stairs with my laptop.

How often do you suffer from attacks? Never had real attack on its own. I must force it or do something I know causes it. First 15 mins of cycling, carrying heavy items for a few mins, getting up and down off floor many times.

When was your last asthma attack? When I exercise if that is an attack. Or do something noted above.

What medications are you taking for asthma? Steroid inhaler and emergency non steroid inhaler

Are any of the medications steroids? Once daily morning inhaler

Have you been hospitalized for asthma, and if so, when? No
