1mil – 20yrs – $160 a month
I recently turned 40 and need to get life insurance as I have 3 little kids (4,6,9 years old) and want to make sure they are ok. I am looking into 20 year term, 1 million policy.
Overall I am pretty healthy person but have hereditary high cholesterol and blood pressure. My mother has the same thing. My cholesterol ratio is good, my good cholesterol is good and so is my tri however my total and bad cholesterol is high.
I reached out to Policy Genius and went through the process of Legal and General. Initially it started as $60 a month but after filling everything out, it got flagged for review. After the review, it was accepted but at a new monthly rate of $160.
I do not take medication for BP and cholesterol because I am a very active person that eats well. Being that it’s hereditary, it’s impossible to alter these numbers.
Is this a good rate? Am I considered a higher risk based on those numbers hence the rate is higher? Should I look around other alternatives?
Any input would be great! Thanks.
