As much as we all love our vehicles, none of them are ever absolutely perfect. They’ve got faults, foibles, things that could just be that little bit better — it’s why mods exist in the first place. Today, we’re here to talk about those low points of owning your car.

I don’t have a “car” per se, but I do have a 2013 BMW F800GS in my garage that brings me joy and pain in equal measure. I love its capability, its color, and its massive aftermarket, but I absolutely loathe the fact that a new clutch lever is going to cost me $141.33 unless I can nab one off a wrecked bike. That’s a patently absurd figure for such a breakable part.

That cost, though, isn’t the worst part of the bike. Nor is the beak, which I still haven’t come to love, or the mismatched headlights, which I quite possibly never will. No, the worst part about the F800GS — to me, personally — is how much of a pain it is to get to the battery.

There are six Torx bolts holding my battery cover on, plus one electrical connector that runs from the ECU to an SAE hack atop the battery. Two are difficult to get to, one never seems to come in or out correctly, and every one needs to be removed if I want to go wild and change out my phone cable. It’s so dumb.

That’s the worst thing about my bike, but what about your daily driver? Are your ND’s cupholders too obtrusive, or do you hate the way your Supra buffets with the windows down at speed? Leave your gripes in the comments, and we’ll collect our favorites later in the week.
