What's The Worst SEMA Build You've Ever Seen?

Every year, the Specialty Equipment Market Association has a show in Las Vegas that attracts dealers, aftermarket parts suppliers, tuners and other car customizers. It’s an absolutely massive car show that packs in thousands of fans and displays more modified vehicles than you ever could hope to see in a single day. Last year, one of my favorite vehicles at SEMA was the Leaf-powered Nissan Sunny pickup truck. It looked absolutely perfect, and while it didn’t actually need a manual transmission, builder Tommy Pike still chose to leave it in just for fun.

That said, the first time I went to SEMA, I quickly realized that I absolutely hated it. There were so many people on the show floor that I had an actual panic attack, something that hadn’t happened to me since my freshman year of college. Then, later that night, I was approached by two women who I later found out pickpocketed me. The joke was on them, though, because I only had a couple of dollars in my money clip. Ultimately, the show just isn’t my scene in large part because I just don’t like Las Vegas.

Because I do not care for SEMA, instead of talking about the coolest builds you’ve ever seen, I say let’s talk about the worst. The mini monster trucks are easy targets, and they obviously suck, but let’s try to go a little deeper. Did you see something with a body kit that looked truly awful? What about a custom build that was clearly rushed at the end and looked like it would be dangerous to drive above 25 mph? Is there a supercar tuner with dangerous quality issues?

Let the hate flow through you. Share all of your least-favorite SEMA builds so I can continue to justify my dislike of one of the most popular shows in the automotive industry.
