Well folks, we made it! The time seems to have finally come where the weather starts warming up and we shed our winter coats for our spring finest. It’s been an intense winter for many of us, and many of our cars have been locked away to spare them from the harsh salty conditions of winter. Now though, it’s time to wake the convertible or the classic in your garage from its hibernation and get it ready for sunny drives through lush green backdrops that were snowy and bare in days not long past.

I live in sunny Los Angeles where we had a rougher winter than normal, but it was never bad enough for us to resort to finding a winter beater. Angeleno’s springtime car care routines primarily consist of washing all the pollen off our cars, but for folks who face truly wintery winters, what’s the most essential part of your spring car care routine? Or perhaps you’re in a sunny climate but still have some post-winter rituals that you perform now that spring has sprung.
This spring, I am realizing it’s become essential for me to kick my car care up a notch and detail Miss Mini’s interior. I’ve watched all the car detailing TikToks, so I know that my steering wheel shouldn’t be shiny. I plan to invest in some detailing brushes and interior cleaners to change that. The rest of my car needs a good deep clean, too, but that will probably be the full extent of my spring car care routine.
AARP recommends preparing your car for spring by checking and cleaning your windshield wiper blades, topping off your fluids, changing air filters, and giving your car a good bath among a few other things. Whether you are someone who takes great pride in the upkeep of your car, or you just hop in, turn the key and go, what, if any special measures do you go to in order to ensure your ride is ready for springtime vehicular duties? For folks in wintery regions I’d guess one of the most important steps is swapping out your winter tires for some stickier summer rubber, but y’all tell us!
