What Car Doesn’t Deserve The Hate It Gets?

Over the years, there’s been more than a few instances of cars that seem to get flack for no other reason than it seems like the popular thing to do. Often that hate comes from those who have never even encountered the car, don’t get the point of it or in the case of a newer model with a legendary name, people can’t seem to let go of the past.

The Future of Acura’s Supercar Factory

Acura NSX

Take the Acura NSX. The original car was brilliant. Honda sought to show that it could create a supercar you could live with everyday without the quirks and poor reliability of the Italians. When the new NSX debuted for 2016, it was immediately panned. Fans and pursuits saw it as an abomination. How could a near $200,000 supercar with a hybrid engine and all-wheel drive wear the name NSX?

Many of these people would never drive it. Others would be too stuck in the past to realize that despite what they assumed, the NSX was good. Having driven the NSX Type S myself, I can say that while it may not be as simplistic as the original NSX was, it does still deliver on one of the original car’s missions: being a supercar that you can live with daily. A twin-turbo hybrid supercar with nearly 600 horsepower that delivers 21 mpg? Why would you hate something like that?

Now we look to you Jalopnik readers. Forget what the haters and pundits say. Let us know what cars you think don’t deserve the hate they get. Don’t be shy about it either. Let us know in the comments.
