You probably shouldn’t go full send at the track if you don’t know what you are doing; good advice that might have benefited this Camaro driver who not only embarrassed themselves at a racetrack in Illinois, but likely totaled their car in the process.

Chevrolet Is The Target To Beat This NASCAR Season

First spotted by the Drive, the crash happened at Grundy County Speedway in Morris, Illinois on July 20 during the Tuner Fest Drift IL event. In a video posted to YouTube, the Camaro was racing an NA Mazda Miata. Seconds into the video, as the Camaro pulled away from the Miata and approached a turn, the driver just simply kept going straight. It’s wild to see. Did he panic? Was he not paying attention?

As the Drive pointed out, if you slow the video down and watch closely, you’ll see that the Camaro’s front wheels were turned in the direction of the turn, but understeer reared its ugly head. One side of the Camaro then got caught up on the track barrier. One of the wheels came off and you can see the airbags deployed as the Camaro slid along the barrier, before coming to a stop on its side.

The Drive mentions that comments on a Facebook post about the crash mention that thankfully, no one was hurt but the car was a loss. This had to be pretty embarrassing for the driver.

Despite the heat that the Ford Mustang gets because of owner crashes, the Camaro has had its share of incidents. A few dealerships totaled customer Camaros after employees recklessly took them for joy rides.
