Watch A Boomer Hilariously Try To Chop Down A No Right-On-Red Sign With World's Dullest Axe

Even if you’re not concerned about the potential for pedestrian deaths, there are plenty of intersections that are too dangerous to allow drivers to turn right on red. If drivers can’t see traffic coming from the left, it makes sense that a city would put up a sign that tells drivers they can’t turn right at a red light. Boomers, however, can’t be told what to do because that’s anti-freedom, and they’re free to do what they want. Any attempts to the contrary will be met with armed resistance.

Reddit user Lord_of_Leviathans posted a video of said armed resistance in the /r/sandiego subreddit, although the dude wasn’t exactly effective. I know because I write on the internet for money, it automatically makes me a spoiled and coddled East Coast elite, but I was also raised in Georgia, so I’m no stranger to chopping wood. My high school was across the street from a cow pasture for Pete’s sake. And if I’m being completely honest, I’ve never seen such ineffective axe work in my life.

If you swing an axe while you’re mad, it can definitely get in the way of your technique. Still, you’d think someone from the generation that pulled itself up by its bootstraps would be able to get through what appears to be a wooden 4×4 way, way faster even with a dull axe. Maybe he’s actually a Gen X-er, and his parents completely forgot to raise him? That might make more sense.

Regardless of his actual age, though, trying to chop down a road sign you don’t like is total Boomer behavior. The fact that it’s going so poorly for him is just the icing on the cake. Also, he’s not wearing gloves and has terrible form, so his back is probably killing him right now, and his hands have to be absolutely covered in blisters. Odds are, he never even finished chopping down the sign before a cop showed up and told him to call it a day and stop embarrassing himself.

In the comments, multiple Redditors also pointed out that this video was taken at an intersection where it absolutely makes sense to ban right on red. “I know this exit very well. It’s Bernardo Center off the 15 North. If he also got the other sign on the median, this is going to cause accidents. You can’t see the cross traffic coming under the freeway overpass,” wrote one commenter.

I’d love to believe that he actually faced consequences for his actions, but we all know he most likely didn’t. In part because there’s almost no chance he ever succeeded at chopping down the sign. At least the blisters are hurting him, though. Just think of the blisters.
