The V12 Vantage will be the last of its line, with Aston confirming it will never again combine its biggest engine with its smallest model.
Limited to just 333 examples worldwide, all coupes, the V12 Vantage is set to cost around $300,000—although Aston hasn’t released an exact price. The entire production run is sold out.
The V12 Vantage is closely related to the even more expensive windshield-less V12 Speedster that Aston launched last year, sharing the same front-end structure to accommodate the 5.2-liter twin-turbo V-12.
The engine’s output is shared with the V12 Speedster, meaning it is slightly below that of the DBS Superleggera—690 hp and 555 lb-ft of torque. An eight-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox is the only transmission option.
Other modifications to help the engine fit include a revised hood, which is taller than that of the V8 car. The V12’s grille is also 25 percent larger.
Extensive aerodynamic modifications include a front splitter, vents set into the trailing edge of the fenders, and a sizable wing on the trunklid—although that last feature can be removed for those in search of more classical elegance.
The V12 Vantage uses a conventional limited-slip differential in place of the electronically controlled torque-biasing diff in the V8 Vantage.
Despite carbon-fiber body panels and a carbon roof, the V12 Vantage weighs a hefty 3957 pounds, according to Aston, in what the company says is the car’s lightest possible configuration.
