The Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe uses a 270-hp turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four engine with 295 pound-feet of torque. It is assisted by a belt-driven 44-hp motor and another 134-hp electric motor that replaces the eight-speed automatic transmission’s torque converter. The combined output is 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque, matching the Wrangler 4xe with the same powertrain.
Every Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe comes with four-wheel drive and has a maximum towing capacity of 6000 pounds.
Standard equipment on the Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe includes 18-inch wheels, a 10.1-inch touchscreen with navigation, a heated steering wheel, heated front and rear seats, and a dual-pane sunroof.
Grand Cherokee 4xe Trailhawk models have blue tow hooks, stitching, and badging to set them apart from their V-6 and V-8 Trailhawk counterparts.

The maximum ground clearance for the Trailhawk 4xe is 10.9 inches, roughly a half-inch less than V-6- and V-8-powered Trailhawks.
While the 4xe is plugged in, this LED indicator fixed atop the dashboard shows the status of its charge. Each light represents 20 percent battery. If something interrupts the charge, the indicator will blink for help.
The 4xe has three drivetrain modes: Hybrid uses power from the gas engine with occasional help from the electric motors; Electric primarily uses battery power, although calls for acceleration often awaken the gas engine; and eSave prioritizes power from the gas engine and focuses on replenishing the battery.
