Vermont Mutual Fills Two Senior Leadership Roles

Vermont Mutual Insurance Group®, a Ward Top 50 Property & Casualty Insurer based in Montpelier, Vermont, recently filled two senior roles within the company. Samuel Hopkins has joined Vermont Mutual as the Vice President and Chief Information Officer and Joshua Wykle has been promoted to the newly created position of Vice President of Strategy & Innovation.

As the company’s new Chief Information Officer, Mr. Hopkins brings more than two decades of experience, most recently serving as Senior Director of Technology for a national property & casualty insurance provider.

Vermont Mutual’s President, CEO and Board Chair, Dan Bridge, stated “We are very pleased to welcome Sam as the Company’s new Chief Information Officer.” Bridge added “Sam’s strategic leadership and hands-on approach to technology aligns with our collaborative and continuous improvement culture. We are excited to have him join the senior team at Vermont Mutual and lead a talented and committed IT organization.”

Additionally, Vermont Mutual named Josh Wykle as the company’s new Vice President of Strategy & Innovation. As part of the senior management team, the new position will expand Mr. Wykle’s Research & Development role to include many strategic and operational aspects within the company.

Speaking of Mr. Wykle’s position within the company, Vermont Mutual’s Executive Vice President and COO, Mark McDonnell, noted “Josh’s influence and contributions have been exceptional, impacting just about every corner of the company. In addition to the many innovative tools and efficiency gains Josh and Team have delivered throughout the organization, his input on some of our most challenging business problems has proven to be invaluable. As our new Vice President of Strategy & Innovation, Josh will be an excellent addition to the Vermont Mutual Leadership Team.”
