Union Mutual Pledges Multi-Year Financial Commitment to Hunger Free Vermont

Charitable Giving Fund Was First Established in 2020 to Give Back To Local New England & New York Communities

MONTPELIER – Union Mutual Fire Insurance Company announced a 3-year, $30,000 commitment to support Hunger Free Vermont.  The organization, one of Union Mutual’s major community partners for 2024, was selected in part by the Companies’ Environmental, Social, Governance committee.  In review of how the Company could align financial and volunteer resources with core values, employees evaluated organizations that aligned with their elected top goal of ‘Zero Hunger’ in accordance with the 17 UN Sustainable Goals.

“We at Hunger Free Vermont are deeply grateful for Union Mutual’s multi-year commitment to working with us to end the injustice of hunger for everyone living in Vermont,” said Anore Horton, Executive Director of the organization. “Their dedication to our mission is evident in many ways—by providing their staff with educational opportunities to better understand the causes of and solutions to hunger, by actively encouraging volunteering with our organization, and through their generous financial support. Union Mutual’s strong partnership will play a vital role in advancing our shared goal of ending hunger and building a brighter future for everyone in Vermont.”

The Montpelier-based Union Mutual Fire Insurance Company established a Charitable Giving Fund in 2020 designed to give back to local New England and New York communities by supporting non-profit organizations.  Through the Fund, the Company is committed to meeting its corporate and social responsibilities by providing donations to worthy causes within the communities in which it does business.  Organizations soliciting donations can learn more by visiting the Company’s website at: https://www.unionmutual.com/about/charitable-giving/
