Insurtech Next Insurance is launching commercial umbrella/excess liability insurance in 41 states and expanding its liquor liability coverage in seven more states.

Next is launching the expansion of the commercial umbrella/excess liability insurance coverage on a direct and agents channel. Using this channel, customers will be able to add this coverage to their policies.

“We’re launching umbrella/excess liability coverage to help entrepreneurs thrive,” said Jack Ramsey, vice president of agent business at Next Insurance. “As businesses grow, their liability insurance needs change, and as a carrier, we want to make sure we’re able to continue to support our customers’ growth.”

The states where Next is expanding liquor liability coverage are Illinois, Michigan, Massachusetts, Missouri, Minnesota, Utah, and Iowa. This coverage is for losses resulting from intoxication of customers, and is designed for small businesses such as cafes, diners and restaurants.
