I’m tired of watching hypercars and 1,000+ horsepower electric vehicles rip off 0-60 times faster than you can finish this sentence. Sometimes it’s just nice to have a little pallet cleanser when it comes to acceleration times. Rather than watching ultrafast cars sprint to 60, it’s interesting to see what even the most mundane cars can do, and that’s exactly what this Instagram account I found sets out to show you.

Normalcars0to60 is not your stereotypical enthusiast social media page. Not at all. What these guys do is post POV 0-60 times from the most, well, normal vehicles you can think of. I really appreciate this. To me, it’s way more interesting to see how quickly a 2017 Ford E-450 U-Haul box truck with a 6.8 liter Triton V10 can get to 60 than a Tesla Model S Plaid. I don’t know, maybe I’m weird.

I just like seeing what regular cars can do, man. This is so much more accessible to me. There’s everything here, from a 2007 Nissan Frontier and a 2017 Buick Lacrosse to a 2002 Audi A2 and a 2012 Acura MDX. With 140 posts on their page, normalcars0to60 will have something you’ll be interested in. I’ve actually found myself just scrolling through their videos, watching them one after the other. It’s sort of like ASMR, maybe? I don’t know. I don’t watch that pervert crap.

Anyway, the videos are all delightful in their simplicity, following a similar formula almost every time. The top half of the video shows a POV of the gauge cluster as the car accelerates, which I’m sure is very safe. And, the bottom half is a picture of the car with its specs and information. Namely, it tells us what car it is, what engine it has, its transmission, the official 0-60 time, its top speed, its curb weight and how much it cost when it was new. I love it.

The account has garnered nearly 75,000 like-minded followers since its first post of a 2017 Honda Pilot back on April 3. There’s a whole lot of mystery surrounding the account. How did the guy come up with this idea? Where does he get the videos from? Is he shooting them himself? I don’t know man, but what I do know is this is the type of content that was tailor-made for me.

It’s the end of the work week, you may as well kill the afternoon scrolling through these videos.
