This Dodge Neon SRT-4 Has Just 5,600 Miles And Awesome Steelies

Remember SRT? Chrysler’s Street and Racing Technology division was born out of a love of performance and gave us great cars like the original SRT-8 LX cars, the outrageous Viper-powered Ram SRT-10, and perhaps most famously the Dodge Neon SRT-4, which had the distinction of being the first SRT-engineered model. It’s been off the market for nearly 20 years now, and there aren’t that many good examples left for sale. Luckily, I was able to find a great one.

Good ahead and try to look for a Neon SRT-4 for sale. You’ll find a Neon that either has high miles, a high price, shitty mods, or some ungodly combo of all three. One SRT-4 for sale in Rochester, Michigan stands out among these. Found on Facebook Marketplace, this 2003 SRT-4 has gone just 5,600 miles and is listed for sale for $22,000.

In addition to the low mileage the car is in great shape. Making it even better are the black steelies it’s equipped with. Unfortunately for some, though, the car is not stock. The seller mentions there’s a stage 3 tune, a short-throw shifter, a rear strut brace and a cold air intake — light mods. And even though it’s rolling on steel wheels, the seller mentions that the tires are of the stock wheel size and that he has the original rims.

This thing has been hardly driven over the last 20 years, which sort of sucks to see. The seller mentions he’s the second owner and purchased it in 2020 from the original owner when it had just 2,000 miles on it. The seller says both he and the first owner treat the car as a collector’s item, and it’s never daily driven.

Even with the low miles, not everything is perfect. The air conditioning has a leak, something the seller says he attempted to fix when he first purchased it, but the fix only held for a month before leaking again. The stage 3 charge air cooler lines are cracked, so the reservoir for the coolant is currently plugged to keep it from leaking. Other problems are largely cosmetic according to the seller:

One small scuff on underside of front facia, one exhaust tip has zero clearance to rear facia but you wouldn’t know without me pointing out, one professionally sealed stone chip in front glass close to bottom front and not visible from driver’s seat, 2 scratches on the hood that aren’t through the clear (I’m confident they’ll rub out but my luck would be something else would happen if I addressed) and the red paint is gone from the injector cover (no surprise).

Even with those issues, it’s still probably the cleanest Neon SRT-4 on the market. If you’re interested, it’s still currently listed for sale on Facebook Marketplace as of this writing.
