During the South Point 400 NASCAR race last Sunday at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Busch Light hosted a couple’s nuptials in record time in the live and active pit complex. With cars roaring past behind them at near 200 miles per hour, character actor Gerald Downey shouted the “do yous” at bride Tori Lindsay and groom Nick Brendel in exchange for their I dos.

The wedding was dubbed the “fastest wedding imaginable” taking place at the same time as Kevin Harvick’s pit stop in the middle of the race. In the video of the wedding you can see Harvick’s crew going to work in the background. The couple go from betrothed to wed in less time than it takes to pump a can of Sunoco into the #4 car.

Busch Light held a contest for aspiring NASCAR fan couples to come to Vegas for the race and a lifelong commitment. Instead of a traditional wedding in front of your closest friends and family, the couple were married before 80,000 red-blooded NASCAR fanatics. Everything was provided for the big day by Busch Light, from their race suit attire to the bride’s beer-can bouquet.

The couple took the trip to Nevada, the undisputed home of the quickie wedding, from their home in St. Louis, Missouri. Tori and Nick are big NASCAR fans, so much so that their engagement was at the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte, North Carolina. For a couple this dedicated to the sport, this must have been like walking on sunshine. What a cool experience.

“We know Busch Light fans love NASCAR just as much as they love having Busch Light at their weddings, so we couldn’t resist merging these passions to give our fans an experience they’ll never forget,” said Krystyn Stowe, Head of Marketing for Busch. “Busch Light is no stranger to the wedding game after releasing a camouflaged wedding dress inspired by our camo cans and having one Busch Light loving couple married by Busch Guy, we’re back at it again to share our unprecedented access to the NASCAR track with one lucky couple in honor of Harvick’s last NASCAR race in the wedding capital of the world.”

I got married in Nevada—Reno actually—about seven hours drive north from Las Vegas, and while our ceremony was held at a drive-through chapel, it wasn’t nearly this quick. We were in and out in 15 minutes, with plenty of time to hit the bars for Santa Crawl night. Our officiant was an old man with a cane and a vintage Coogi sweater. I remember it like it was yesterday. I’m sure this couple won’t forget their NASCAR wedding any time soon.

Congratulations to the newlyweds. Here’s hoping a long and prosperous union comes from this. May your happiness together last even longer than Kevin Harvick’s 28-season NASCAR career.
