Sinistar Welcomes Insurance Leader Vlad Koltchine as a Strategic Advisor to Further its Impact Within the P&C Industry

With a wealth of experience spanning over two decades in the insurance sector, Vlad’s expertise will be instrumental in driving Sinistar’s mission to provide more affordable and suitable housing solutions for displaced policyholders.
Vlad Koltchine brings an impressive track record of leadership and innovation in the insurance industry. He spent nine years at Aviva, where he led a team of over 150 employees, enhancing client experience, partnership development, and internal talent. As the AVP for business improvement consulting at Aviva UK, Vlad successfully directed a major market proposition program in the high net worth segment. Upon returning to Toronto, landing in Aviva’s digital and innovation strategy, Vlad product owned the development of Aviva’s quoting and buying solutions and the broker transformation program.
Following his tenure at Aviva, Vlad joined Wawanesa as the regional underwriting operations manager and later became the director of personal insurance for Ontario. In these roles, he directed a team of 130 employees, grew premiums, focused on improved profitability, and led a multi-year operations transformation roadmap including adoption of a major technology solution. His strategic vision and operational excellence were pivotal in optimizing processes and leveraging technology for enhanced performance.
Currently, as the senior director of The Insurance Institute of Ontario, Vlad oversees operations and efficiency of a 20,000+ member association, driving membership growth and product sales, fostering key industry relationships, and ensuring financial integrity.
With the addition of Vlad to the advisory team, Sinistar will further grow its support towards the insurers, adjusters, and communities impacted by residential losses.
