NYCM Gives: Celebrating National Nonprofit Day
At NYCM Insurance, embracing community and
succeeding as a team are core values that we hold at the forefront each and
every day. We know that when we are working together everyone achieves more,
and that by supporting the people and organizations where we live, work, and play, we can
strengthen the foundation of the communities we call home.
Not only do we take extreme pride in offering exceptional care and service to our
customers, but we are humbled to offer support to more than 550 events,
organizations, and causes each year—many of which are submitted by employees
who are looking to bolster the charitable groups that resonate with them. NYCM
supports a variety of organizations related to health and wellness, education, youth
athletics, fine arts, community events, and other causes that align
with company values and contribute to making our communities special.
In March 2022, the NYCM
Foundation presented a donation of $10,000.00 to the Edmeston Rotary Club in
support of Ukrainian refugees seeking safety.
In addition to hundreds of charitable causes,
NYCM corporately sponsors various organizations that coordinate run/walks on an
annual basis including:
●
Walk to End Alzheimer’s – Alzheimer’s
Association
●
Making Strides Against Breast
Cancer – American Cancer Association
●
Tour de Cure – American
Diabetes Association
●
America’s Greatest Heart Run &
Walk – American Heart Association
●
Walk for Autism – The
Kelberman Center
●
Walk for MS – National
Multiple Sclerosis Society
●
No-Shave November
●

Baldrick’s Foundation
Each of these corporate sponsorships brings employees and community members together around
a common cause to represent Team NYCM and raise awareness and funds for people
in need. Every year, NYCM employees team-up and display genuine
care for a number of causes that resonate with them, and work to provide hope
for a better tomorrow and the courage to persevere.

Run and Walk in May 2022.
Year-round, team members are welcome to submit
employee-driven fundraisers on the company
intranet page to help spread the word about different philanthropic efforts
taking place and to help one another get involved. Over the years, NYCM
employees have organized longstanding and recurring projects that benefit our
communities in important ways.
Some examples include: employees organizing Back-to-School
supply drives,
donations to local food pantries, contributions of clothing and personal
products to local school districts, and offerings to nursing homes and families
in need through programs like Helping Hands and the Sherburne Christmas
Cares Committee.
In June 2022, NYCM Insurance Customer
Experience team members Hannah Backus, Kelsea Webster, Joyce Polanowicz, Sarah
Newman, Todd Penoyer, Zeke Miller, Doug Stoddard, and Roger Kise spent the day
volunteering to help clean up at the Utica Zoo.
NYCM employees are also empowered to utilize
16-hours of annual paid volunteering time, together
totaling nearly 1,000 hours of volunteer time every year. Through our employee
volunteer opportunities, team members are able to get involved and spread awareness about the
causes that mean the most to them.
At NYCM Insurance, we feel incredibly proud to
be able to partner with such upstanding organizations and are inspired every
day by the actions of our team members who continually demonstrate genuine
compassion and empathy for others. Click below to read about some of our
