Mojgan Golavar Joins ClaimsPro SRD’s Marine Division in Western Canada

VANCOUVER, BC, SEPTEMBER 19, 2024/insPRESS/ – ClaimsPro, a leading North American provider of independent claims adjusting services and an SCM company, today announced Mojgan Golavar will join its Specialty Risk Division (SRD) as an Executive General Adjuster and Marine Surveyor within its Marine Division. ClaimsPro’s SRD is Canada’s largest team of commercial loss professionals, and Mojgan’s appointment bolsters the Marine and Cargo Risk Management team in Western Canada, helping to ensure cargo losses are critically managed, and that potential exposures are minimized.

Mojgan brings more than 25 years of international insurance industry experience to ClaimsPro, having held roles at brokerages, international insurance service groups, and claims management companies in Canada and Iran. Over the course of her career, she has been involved in a variety of large loss claim types including those within the General, Engineering, Energy, Oil, Gas, Aviation, Telecommunications, and Petrochemical sectors. Throughout her career, a focus on marine related losses has established Mojgan as an expert in that industry.

Mojgan’s marine-related experience includes handling hundreds of losses and cargo damage assessments for perishable imported goods, as well as marine and road transport cargo claims for international insurers, reinsurers, and brokers. She has also handled oil and gas claims including the sinking of a buoy, damage to a well, explosion of a pipeline, and breakdown of a submarine. She was a member of one of the first regulatory bodies approved to perform insurance-related services of oil and gas subsidiaries in Iran.

In her new role, Mojgan will work alongside ClaimsPro’s Marine Services team to support marine, cargo, transportation, and other commercial losses. It is that degree of detail and specialization that makes Ms. Golavar an ideal fit for this organization.

“Mojgan’s appointment boosts not only our marine division nationally, but it also bolsters our team in Western Canada,” says Captain John Hosty, ClaimsPro’s National Director, Marine Services. “I am pleased to welcome her to the team and look forward to working with her to support our clients in this specialized space.”

ClaimsPro’s SRD is a team of commercial, and industrial large loss professionals operating under four distinct business categories to support clients in these sectors – Marine, Transportation, Equipment & Cargo (TEC), Financial Lines (BBCG) and Complex, Commercial & Industrial (CCI). The division is comprised of Senior General Adjusters and Executive General Adjusters—highly experienced individuals who possess professional backgrounds in law, engineering, and insurance. CCI handles a diverse portfolio of technical commercial and industrial losses across Canada and internationally, coordinating teams of professionals and overseeing all aspects of claims through to final resolution.
