A hotel valet meant to be parking an Audi RS7 at a Baltimore hotel decided to take the luxury car on a joyride, according to police. The valet then claimed that the car was stolen from him while he was at a car meet. The police found the Audi abandoned and completely destroyed, with the car’s owner waking up to the bad news from the hotel manager. That’s not exactly what you want to hear on your vacation.

Brian Eller visited Baltimore, Maryland for a date night two months ago, WBFF reports. He arrived at the upscale waterfront Pendry Hotel in his recently purchased Audi RS7 and left the keys with the valet service. Instead of parking the car, valet Jordan Richardson allegedly took the German sedan to a nearby convenience store for a car meet. Richardson claims that while he was sitting in the back seat, three people jumped into the car, flashed a handgun and stole it from him.

The police recovered the car outside an apartment building and took it to the impound lot. When Eller when to retrieve the Audi, he found a severely damaged vehicle. Eller told WBFF, “They destroyed the whole body. The doors don’t even open. There’s a full can of gas spilled in the car.” Video shows the front bumper partially ripped off, the front suspension collapsed and the door panels battered.

Richardson was arrested and charged for the car theft while the other thieves are still at large. Eller was offered a free stay at the Pendry as compensation, but I doubt that he won’t leave his car with the valets if he chooses to return.
