Honda Prologue Costs Less, Gets More Range Than Chevy Blazer EV Sibling

Honda is finally one step closing in bringing its newest EV, the Prologue, to market. Now we finally have a full breakdown of its pricing. Including a $1,395 destination charge, the 2024 Honda Prologue will start at $48,795.

The 2024 Honda Prologue Is Honda’s First Electric SUV

This price is unique for a couple of reasons. First, it’s one of the few EVs to come to market recently that has a starting price under $50,000. The second is that it’s currently the cheapest Ultium platformed EV, at least until the Chevy Equinox EV comes to market. The Prologue’s starting price is $8,800 less than the Blazer EV’s starting price ($57,595 including destination.) This price also makes it Honda’s most expensive model here in the U.S. — at least once you get into the higher trims.

Honda will offer the Prologue in three trims: EX, Touring, and top line Elite. Between those are single or dual motor configurations. The base EX starts at the aforementioned $48,795. That gets you a front mounted single motor setup with 212 horsepower and an 85 kWh lithium battery (which is the same across all trims) and 296 miles of range. You also get an 11-inch driver display, another 11.3-inch infotainment display, a suite of driver safety aids and luckily wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality.

If you want dual motors and all-wheel drive with your Prologue EX, that’ll set you back $51,795. You get more power at 288 hp and 333 lb-ft of torque, but you lose 15 miles of range for a total of 281.

Moving up into the Prologue Touring is the same situation as the EX. You can have the Touring single motor for $53,095 with 296 miles of range or the Touring dual motor with 281 miles of range for $56,095.

2024 Honda Prologue Elite

The top trim Prologue Elite starts at $59,295. Only available in the dual motor configuration, it strikes a balance between the other two trims with its range coming in at 273 miles. Charging the Prologue should be easy as Honda says it supports DC fast charging up 150kW. Honda says that’s enough to get it 65 miles of range in 10 minutes.

And just like the Acura ZDX, Honda is offering charging packages that come with both installation and public charging credits as well as support through Honda’s Home Electrification marketplace. If any of this interests you, Honda says buyers can expect the Prologue to start arriving at dealers in March.
