Here at Jalopnik, we like to think of ourselves as being pretty decent behind the wheel of a car. Most of us got our licenses years ago and have been finely tuning our craft ever since, while others are practically over-qualified, rolling around town with two drivers licenses in their wallets.

But on the whole, it’s been a while since we took a test, and we’ve also probably never took a driving test in the same place you did. Because of this, we want to find out what it’s really like taking a driver’s test in America in 2024.
So, if you’ve taken your drivers test recently, we’d love to hear from you.
I’m hoping to find out more about what it takes to pass a test these days and what sort of hoops you have to jump through in order to get your license. Maybe that’s a paper test you have to sit before you step anywhere near a car, or maybe it’s the maneuvers you’re tested on through the exam. To do this, I don’t just want to hear from the people setting the tests, I also want to hear from those taking them.
If you’ve been tested on your driving abilities in the last six months, I’d love to hear from you. Whether it’s in New York, where I took my test, or Utah, I’m hoping for a wide range of experiences to write about.
What’s more, if you’ve taken your test overseas, I’d also love to hear about how it went, as I’m interested in comparing America’s tests to other countries. So please, reach out if you’ve got a story to share.
