Costco Will Sell The Chevy Blazer EV At A Discount To Go With Your Rotisserie Chicken

Costco knows that you keep coming back for the rotisserie chicken and Kirkland brand, but you can now also buy a cheaper 2024 Chevy Blazer EV at your local warehouse. Chevy notified its dealers that Costco members are eligible for a $1,000 rebate on the Blazer EV through January 2, according to Cars Direct.

The discount is part of Costco’s Auto Program, which currently provides members lower pricing on cars from Chevy, Buick, GMC, Volvo and Polestar. The $1,000 rebate applies to all trims of Chevy’s latest EV, including the base model. But the discount comes with a few strings attached — the first being eligible buyers must have been warehouse members as of October 31 when the discounts launched via the Costco Auto Program. Per Cars Direct:

Last Friday, the 2024 Chevy Blazer EV was added to GM’s year-end Costco promo. Through January 2nd, members of the popular wholesale chain can get an extra $1,000 off all versions of the electric SUV. Previously, only the Equinox and Silverado were eligible.

To qualify, you’ll need to have been a Costco member as of October 31st when the annual program was introduced. The national incentive is one of the few Blazer EV discounts that consumers can get since there are virtually no other rebates on the new all-electric SUV.

The other string attached to the deal is not so much related to the Costco discount, but will nonetheless impact the SUV’s cost. Chevy is inflating the Blazer EV’s residual values through a $7,500 credit, which means that leasing could be a better value upfront than buying outright. But Cars Direct says the inflated values could make the Blazer EV more expensive at the end of the lease than other EVs.

Still, the Costco discount seems to be the only deal currently available on the Blazer EV. The $1,000 can also be combined with a $500 GM lease loyalty discount or $500 bonus for drivers are switching to the Blazer EV from a vehicle not made by GM. That all makes for a total of $1,500 off the price of the EV.

The discount slashes cost due at signing by nearly $1,800 and could lower the Blazer EV’s monthly lease price by over $100 dollars, according to Cars Direct:

If you’re leasing a Blazer EV, the $1,000 Costco discount can result in a more affordable lease. With the incentive, Chevy’s national lease example for the 2024 Blazer EV 2LT comes out to $629 for 36 months with $3,679 due at signing based on 10,000 miles a year.

While that does include the $1,500 in potential savings mentioned above, it does make for a better lease than before. As CarsDirect reported previously, Chevy’s first Blazer EV lease required $5,469 at signing and had an effective cost of almost $800 per month.

The 2024 Blazer EV is also eligible for up to $7,500 in federal tax credits, which adds even more incentive for those looking for a fully-electric SUV. That’s good because it’s likely that the electric Blazer will need all the help it can get, what with the recent reports of the Chevy Blazer EV having multiple issues at launch.
