2024 Subaru BRZ tS Revealed with Upgraded Suspension and Brakes

2024 Subaru BRZ tS Revealed with Upgraded Suspension and Brakes

Subaru has revealed a new version of the BRZ for 2024 called the tS.It has performance upgrades to the suspension and brakes, along with new wheels and visual add-ons.We expect to get pricing within the next few months before the 2024 BRZ tS goes on sale later this year.

The performance-oriented tS trim level is returning to the Subaru BRZ lineup for the rear-wheel-drive sports coupe’s second generation. Like before, the package includes upgrades for the brakes and suspension along with enhanced visuals and special badging. Subaru revealed the 2024 BRZ tS at the Subiefest event in California yesterday, and now we have all sorts of photos of the new model and details about its performance upgrades.

The key mechanical changes include Brembo brakes front and rear, different 18-inch wheels, and an “STI-tuned” suspension setup with Hitachi dampers. These brakes are the same larger rotors and upgraded pads found in the Toyota GR86’s new Performance package for 2024. The setup has 12.8-inch rotors in front and 12.4-inch rotors in the rear, larger by 1.2 and 1.0 inch compared with the stock GR86 and BRZ. The Subaru’s Hitachi dampers are different from the Toyota’s Sachs units, though, so there will surely be differences in tuning between the two.

Visually, the most obvious difference for the BRZ tS is the badge visible on the grille and the trunklid. The brake calipers are painted gold and the dark gray 18-inch wheels are slightly different than the standard car’s. Inside, the tS gets blue stitching and a blue leather accent on the seats, plus STI logos for the start button and gauge cluster.

There are no changes to the standard BRZ’s 228-hp 2.4-liter flat-four engine, but the tS does come only with the six-speed manual transmission. The tS will be available in all of the 2024 BRZ’s exterior color options. It will also have Subaru’s EyeSight driver-assistance features, which are a new addition to all 2024 BRZs equipped with manual transmissions.

The BRZ tS will go on sale later this year and will likely start in the mid-$30,000 price range.
