Worst case scenario? Anything I can do?

Earlier this year I broke two bones in my hand while snowboarding. I have a high deductible Anthem BCBS plan.

After the accident, I called my insurance and asked where I should go that was in network. They referred me to an urgent care nearby. At urgent care they took an xray and determined it was broken and needed surgery. Then they set me up with a surgery across the street at their hospital for a week or so down the line. I got the surgery, thankfully it wen’t well.

What I didn’t know at the time was the urgent care was in network and the same companies hospital was out of network. I had assumed that since my insurance referred me to the urgent cate it was all in network.

Now they are saying I owe my in network deductible, in network maximum, out of network deductible, and out of network maximum since I maxed out in urgent care and maxed out while at the hospital.

This all adds to a whopping 24,000$, triple the amount I thought I would ever be responsible for paying.

Is there anything I can do??
