Where do I start?

Hi im 18 (NC) and I have absolutely no idea how to get any form of health insurance but I need to. Let me preface this by adding a little back story.

So I just left an abusive house hold with almost nothing, I have all my important documents other than my insurance card. I have no income, and the insurance that I was previously on my parents are taking me off of. I have some very bad medical issues that need to be addressed before I can get a job or even learn to drive.

That being said I need insurance asap but I don’t know where to begin, when I look it up all the plans are way too expensive and my state’s website is confusing and hard to manage, I don’t know what half of the words mean and I don’t know if I even qualify for government insurance like Medicare/Medicaid. Could someone help explain it all or help point me in a direction on what to do?

Also my medical problem can very much so end me up in the hospital/ dead/ or blind and before I lost my insurance through my parents I was lined up to go to a specialist but now I don’t know if I can even afford to go and get all the testing I need.

Lastly I’m trying to obtain my medical records and I contacted my old doctors but they didn’t answer so I’m trying to figure that out.
