When does medicaid end after a reported income change? Needing to buy marketplace plan for 90 days prior to employer coverage availability (new job)

I have been a student, unemployed and receiving Apple Health (Washington state medicaid) for several years.

I recently graduated and accepted a job that pays well and will provide health insurance, but not immediately–there is a 90 day wait for insurance.

A friend told me to not report my income change to the state until I have new insurance, but I am always afraid of getting in trouble–classic dorky rule followers.

So I reported the change, and was prompted to select a new plan. I have monthly prescriptions and I don't want to end up paying full price or being billed retroactively once changes are reported! I picked the best plan that covers my prescriptions, although one has a $100 copay.

Ok, so the plan I selected is reasonable, I guess. I can afford it. With prescription co-pays I will be paying about $370 a month.

I just can't find answers to questions anywhere.

My main question is when will my Apple Health (medicaid) actually end if I reported a change today? I think it's the start of next month, but can anyone answer that more definitely? My email with the new insurance info does not specify dates, it just prompted me to go make a payment immediately. Blah.

Did I just screw myself over by being too honest? I can't change it now, but should I have just kept Apple Health until I get insurance from my employer? It seems silly to buy another plan and then get ANOTHER plan in October.
