What to do if you think your parents dropped you as a dependent? ( no contact with them)
Okay long story short i have not had contact with my parents in 6 months due to issues with my step mom. Today my step mom texted asking if I wanted her to renew me as a dependent on her insurance when I said yes she sent back a “should’ve been a better kid” . I am now very worried she may drop me out of spite and I will have no way of knowing it I do not have a online login to the account and any mail from the insurance goes to her house since she’s the policy holder. I have no problem signing up for my own with my employer If she does since that is a qualifying life event however how can I know if she has/does drop me and get proof to show my employer? Open enrollment isn’t till NOV and I plan on getting on my own plan regardless but I’m the meantime how can I find out if I’m covered, for how long, and get proof if I have been dropped. I live in UT , 24 years old , income 90k and have select health. Thanks I’m advance.
