What kind of professional do I need?

I want to do an IOP or PHP for mental health sometime before the end of this year. I was already in a very expensive, private pay residential program for months and was discharged because they weren’t able to help me. There is no money left for another private pay program. Wherever I go next has to be substantially covered by insurance.

I’ve been searching for programs (all over the country) and so far, it seems that all the programs that would be good for my needs are private pay/out-of-network. It seems that my only option may be to go to a low quality program that is in-network. However, before I make that decision, I want to be absolutely positive that I’m not missing any good programs out there that are in-network, or that there isn’t some way I could get substantial reimbursement for one of the good out-of-network programs (for this I would be willing to switch insurance plans to something that has a better track record covering out-of-network mental health treatment).

If you have any advice for my situation (such as plans that might be good for me to switch to, or if you know of any good intensive mental health programs that are covered by insurance), I’ll certainly take it. But what I’m hoping to find out with this post is if there’s any professional who could advise me in this situation, and if so, where I would find them. Should I talk to a broker? I’m not necessarily looking to buy new insurance (although I am willing to, if need be). I’m mainly looking for advice. Should I talk to a financial advisor? Or a health insurance advocate? I really have no idea where to go. Basically I want to just sit down with someone, give them all the information, and ask them how I can make this work.
